Ten on Tuesday

1. We got so much snow the sunday and monday before christmas, that it took Dave a good 40 minutes to dig my car out of the driveway so I could make it to work on tuesday. And since the weather reports said that it would be snowing the rest of the week I was sure we would never make it to California.

2. Wednesday morning I piled all the animals in the car so that I could leave them at work while we were gone. Just think of the fun, 2 cats and three dogs all on the backseat of my car!

3. Dave and I opened our presents Christmas Eve, since we were traveling early the next morning. My present from Dave hadn't arrived yet. He bought me a saddle!!! It arrived yesterday and I love it. I got Dave Guitar Hero world tour, so we spent a couple hours playing before calling it a night.

4.Thursday morning we headed to the Idaho Falls airport with Daniel and Heather. Our plane was already at the airport but our flight was delayed. They had to wait for permission to take off because it was snowing so bad. Finally they had us board the airplane but then we had to wait for them to plow the runway and deice the plane. It took them a little longer because the truck with the deicer ran out of fluids so they had to borrow some from another airline. We finally left Idaho Falls 40 minutes late and just missed our connection in Salt lake by a couple minutes. We were able to get a new flight a couple hrs later and finally arrived in California at around 3:00.

5. We stopped at Grandma and Grandpa Dickson's place for a short visit, before heading over to Dave's Family for Christmas Dinner. We had Filet Mignon, yummy! After opening a few gifts and visiting for a while we headed over to my family where we would be spending the night.

6. Got up Friday morning for some family pictures with the Griffiths. For the first time in a few years everyone was around for christmas.

7. Went with Kerri to visit Kirstin and had a great time. Lia was so cute and not very shy.

8. Saturday my mom, Kerri, Adam and I went to Gilroy for a little shopping and Panda express(yum) while Dave went dirt bike riding the Dennis and family.

9. We left for Reno late that afternoon in my parents Saturn. With Daniel, Heather, and Kyle in the back set it made for a tight ride. We spent the night at Circus Circus before continuing our trip back to Idaho Sunday morning.

10. Stopped in Idaho Falls on our way back to Rexburg to pick up all the animals. They sure were happy to see us!

Update on Chief

Ten on Tuesday

1. So today was not a good day. Today I broke Chief's leg, and I have been in a emotional guilt stricken state ever since it happened.

2. The plan this morning was to bring Chief to work with me, since he was due for some vaccines. Unfortunately it has been snowing like crazy for the past for days. And last night a fresh layer of snow left the front steps nice and icy.

3. So I got all me gear together and put the lease on Chief so I could walk him out to the car. As I reached the bottom step Chief came down the steps and some how in my attempt to not step on him I slipped on the step and fell. And although I tried really hard not to fall on him it just happened so fast. As I landed all I heard was his bone snap and his screaming. I sure you can just imagine the state I was in by the time I arrived at work.

4. I am so grateful that I work for veterinarians and that they are able to do orthopedic surgeries. They took some xrays after he was given some pain meds and he had a broken tibia. luckily everything else was ok. Dr Francis decided to do his surgery today and after he opened up his leg he decided the best way to stabilize the fracture was to put on an external fixature. Basically that means he has some pins in his bone that are held in place by two metal rods on the outside. hopefully in 6 weeks he will be all healed up.

5. I brought him home tonight and He is still pretty drugged up. I think that I will bring with me to work for the rest of the week.

6. Despite the bad weather I did get the chance to finish my christmas shopping Saturday, yeah!

7. Dave and I went to my work christmas party saturday night. It is always fun. Dr Francis cooked some Prime rib for dinner, yum!

8. Driving in this weather is really no fun. the roads don't get plowed all that well and since they don't put down any deicer the packed down snow makes for a nice ice layer.

9. I guess I only got a short break, because I am back to feeling sick all the time. It is not quite as bad, but now it comes with head aches.

10. I think that Dave may have the dreaded strep throat that has been going around in the area.

Ten for the week

1. Although Chief is already getting bigger than Frodo, they still enjoy a little tug-o-war.

2.I pretty much spent all day Saturday sleeping. I was so tired that even after sleeping all afternoon I was ready for bed by 9:30 that night.
3.by monday I was feeling much better. for the past three days I haven't been nauseous at all and am once again enjoying eating. hopefully this will last.
4. I had another doctors appointment today and I was excited to hear the baby's heart beat. I tend to get all worried and it is nice to know everything is still going good. Next visit is the ultrasound, hopefully we will find out if we are having a boy or girl!
5.Took Barney to work last Wednesday to get his thyroid rechecked and clean his teeth. His breath smelled so bad and when I was feeling sick it was enough to make me puke. It is much better now!
6. Dave and I have started watching the John Adams miniseries from HBO. It is very good. Just got the second disc from netflix today.
7. A couple techs went on vacation this past week so I worked yesterday and had today off instead. Also one tech is moving away so we are going to be short staffed for a while. It makes my job a little more stressful so hopefully they will try to find someone new soon. The good thing is that Cindy and I will now be rotating thursday and fridays off, so everyother week I will have a three day weekend!
8.Went visiting teaching right after work last thursday. It is always nice to visit, but I really payed for not eating later that night.
9.Finally got the boat back from the body repair shop. We had some warranty work done on the gel coat and it looks great! now it is safely stored in our garage for the winter.
10. Can't seem to get any meat onto Chief.maybe it is because he is growing so fast, but he often leaves food behind in his bowl. eventually he won't look so skinny.

Ten on Tuesday

1. I have been slacking on posting recently and I don't really have any good excuses.
2.I did make it to see Twilight a couple Saturdays ago. I was afraid no one would go with me so I bought a ticket for Dave and he agreed to sit through the movie with me. I don't think he expected a romance movie so he was a little bored, but I enjoyed watching it.

3. Spent the entire day last tuesday cleaning my house so that it was ready for thursday when everyone was coming over.

4. Thursday I cooked my first Turkey for thanksgiving dinner. All the directions I had said it would take about 3-4hrs for the size I had bought. It actually ended up taking 5 hrs so we ate dinner later then I had planned. I was happy that the turkey stayed moist.

5. Brad and Jolene, Daniel and Heather, and Brianna all came over for Thanksgiving. It was nice to have everyone bring a few of the dishes over so no one got overwhelmed with preparing the whole meal.
6. Went to see Australia thursday night with Brianna. I really enjoyed the movie.

7. Friday morning I went out with Jolene for a little black friday shopping. We didn't leave until 9 so luckily we missed all the crazy people. I was very happy to finally get some christmas shopping done.

8. Dave decided that we should get a Dane sized crate for Chief since he is quickly growing out of Barney's old kennel.

9. We also went and got our christmas tree at a lot in Idaho falls set up by the boy scouts. It smells so good!

10. spent the rest of weekend putting up the few decorations that I have. Merry Christmas!!!!

Ten on Tuesday

1. Everyone but Kerri tells me that I should be feeling better soon, but so far I have been following the same pattern as Kerri so I don't think I will be feeling better for a couple more months. Today like yesterday I just want to lay down and avoid all food.

2. Dave and I started some yard work saturday, but there were so many leaves we were both tired before we could finish.

3. Had lesson with Jolene on Millie. She was being a little difficult, mostly because she wanted to get back to the other horses.

4. Had one scary moment when Millie saw Jolene's little Chihuahua and tried to run her down and stomp on her. Luckily Millie actually stopped when I asked, I was afraid she wouldn't. Poor little pebbles spent the rest of the time in Dave's arms.

5.We got a new puppy saturday. See previous post. So far he has been pretty good just whines a little at night.

6. Went and saw Quantum of Solace Saturday night. Action packed bond movie!

7. Barney and Frodo were finally playing with Chief today. I was outside trying to rake the million of leaves in our yard so I didn't have my camera on me, but it was very cute!

8. Went to the Dentist today, it was a very good visit. I still really like this place I found here in Rexburg.

9.As I was trying to work on the leaves our neighbor came over and offer to take his lawn scraper over the yard for me. I was already feeling pretty bad so I was very thankful that he offered.

10. I am excited this weekend for twilight and 24. It has been way too long without any new 24 episodes.

Sunday, November 16, 2008

Some people may think I am crazy!

So yesterday Dave bought us our chrismas present to each other.

Isn't he so cute! Dave didn't have to work very hard to convince me that I wanted this Blue Great Dane. Really the only thing that was holding me back was I was afraid what people would think if I got another dog. Sometimes I just have to remind myself it doesn't matter what others think. I've always talked about getting a Dane and this one came at a offer we just couldn't refuse!

He is 8 weeks old and loves this stuffed rabbit.
We named him Chief. Here he is playing with his brother Diesel who was adopted by Daniel and Heather.

Ten on Tuesday

1.Voted today. It was my first time ever going to a polling booth. In California I always voted absentee. It was also the smallest ballet I have voted on,since there were no props or measures on it. I guess I am just used to the California elections where there are always a ton of things to vote on.

2. I did find it strange that most of those people campaigning for office weren't even on the ballet. I guess the idea is you are suppose to write in their names if you don't like the candidate on the ballet. Much to complicated for me. Really if you want me to vote for you have your name put on the ballet, I am not going to remember who you are if you aren't a choice on my sheet!

3. Dave's mom came into town Wednesday to visit for the weekend. After work I joined everyone at Jesse's for some pizza.

4. Friday night the family went to the BYU I Halloween concert. I thought the best song preformed by the orchestra was Pirates of the Caribbean theme. I just think that the violins sound amazing in that song.

5. Saturday morning I final took Millie to the vet for a wellness exam and to get her vaccinated since she had no know history of vaccines. The Vet said she looked very healthy and I was surprised by how little it cost.

6. Afterwards we moved Millie and Sunny back over to Brad and Jolene's for the winter. Millie was very happy to be reunited with her favorite buddy(Native). they ran straight to each other and touched noses for a moment. I wish I had my camera on me it was so cute!

7. I then Joined Mom Griffith and Lousia on some errands around town. After lunch we all headed to Idaho Falls for a little shopping. Mom got pulled over while driving over to Idaho Falls, luckily the cop was nice enough to let her off with a warning.

8. We then went to Texas roadhouse for dinner, it was yummy. unfortunately though I got very sick that night so I think I'll pass on roadhouse for a while.

9.Had Jesse, Lousia and Miles over for Sunday dinner. We enjoyed watching Cars with Miles.

10. Sunday we had Stake conference with the north rexburg stake on BYUI campus. At that meeting they created a new stake and rearranged the boundaries of the Sugar city stake and North Rexburg Stake. We are now part of the new Rexburg Idaho Henry Fork Stake. It was pretty interesting, I have never been part of the creation of a new stake before.

Ten on Tuesday

1. I really enjoyed that last minute of Supernatural this week. nothing more entertaining than Jensen Ackles lip synching to eye of the tiger! Just in case you missed it:

2. decided to try out a new kind of litter for the cats. all the clay/gravel dust has been really getting to me and I felt as if I need to vacuum everyday to keep from tracking all over the house. I now use a crystal litter and I love it. the crystal absorb the urine so only need to scope out the other messes. Tevi still manages to track an occasional piece outside the box, but not nearly as much as before. For anyone with indoor cats I would recommend switching!

3. Drove to Idaho Falls Saturday to drop the Truck off for service. We then went over to the Mall so Dave could get a back massage.

4. Relaxed all day sunday. The animals really enjoy taking up all the room on the couches.

Barney had to move once he realized Piper was sleeping next to him.

5. Made the usual for sunday dinner and had Brianna, Daniel and Heather over. Everyone must have been hungry because every roll was gone by the end.

6.Brianna made a chocolate mouse pie. It was yummy!!!

7.I watched 21 this week and thought it was pretty good. I really liked the ending.

8. After seeing all the previews for the new James Bond, Dave and I watched Casino Royale this weekend. Daniel Craig is definitely my favorite Bond.

9.I feel like I have spent all day cleaning today. I have been putting off any cleaning the past couple weeks, mostly I haven't felt up to it. The house looks a little better now.

10. Not very exciting this week, but at least I am starting to feel better!

Tuesday, October 21, 2008

Ten on Tuesday

1.Starting around Thursday I was feeling just aweful. I guess I was looking pretty green at work on friday because both Jen and Dr. Rolston told me I needed to go and sit down. What do you eat when nothing looks appetizing? I went to the store and bought some B6 and Unisom, but I didn't really start feeling better til monday. Poor Dave had to deal with me all weekend and I was hoping to take care of him for his birthday.

2. We finally got some wood for the winter delivered last week. Daniel brought the missionaries by Saturday morning to help stack the wood in the back.

3.The original plan Saturday was to go for a ride with Brianna, but when I arrived a Jolene's all I really wanted to do was go home and sleep. So I watched them get all the horses ready and then Dave took me home. I think everyone had fun.
4. Saturday night Jesse and Lousia came over for some pizza and then we went with them to a straw maze near our home. It was a pretty good maze made out of those huge 1 ton bales of hay. they even had a few people in the maze trying to scare everyone. It only took us about 15 min our first time through, but we got lucky and ended up following a few people who had already been through a couple times.

5.Took a much needed nap on sunday. naps are one of my all time favorite sunday activities.

6.Dave turned the big 30 yesterday! Brianna made a cake for sunday dinner so we enjoyed some cake and ice cream! thanks!

7. I am happy to report that Tevi has completely recovered from her surgery and now is a completely different cat. She just can't leave us alone anymore. her favorite location is on our laps when we are on the computer.

8. The weather has once again turned cold and windy. I am really not motivated to go outside to do anything.

9.The cats have started knocking their food container off the refridgerator. Saturday the managed to get Tevi's new special food off the fridge while we were out. So of course they all(including the dogs) managed to empty the bag. I guess I need to find a new hiding place for the food!

10.I have finally started Brisinger!

A Ride on Millie

Here are some pictures from the first time I rode Millie last month. I finally got them in an email. I know they are a little small, but I couldn't figure out how to increase the size of the pics with out them turning blurry.

Ten on Tuesday

1. Yes, I am pregnant! We are expecting our new arrival around May 22nd. I had my first doctors appointment today and I was relieved to find out the baby looks healthy on the ultrasound.

2. This past weekend Dave got worried that we may be having twins, because I had a dream about it. I told him it was because we had been talking about the odds of having twins right before I went to bed. With several twins in the family anything is possible. Lucky for Dave the ultrasound showed just one baby!

3.Unfortunately I usually feel a little nauseous all day long but it gets worse at night or if I don't eat when I am hungry. And for some unknown reason I no longer sleep well at night, hopefully me body will adjust soon because I really need a good night sleep.

4.Went and saw Eagle eye last friday. It was very good!

5. yuck! it snowed all weekend. It has all melted, but it sure is cold now. I have to break up the layer of ice in the water trough every morning for the horses.

6. I worked for the emergency clinic Saturday. It was really slow, I think no one really wanted to drive in the snow.

7. I have been having a real craving for milk, especially chocolate. It is one of the few things that taste good going down when I am so nauseous.

8. Took Millie to Idaho Falls tonight to ride in an arena with Cindy near her place. Discovered that all though Millie is good on the trail, she has no experience in an arena and had a hard time figuring out what to do. Jolene is going to try to spend some more time with me and Millie to teach her a little better.

9. Its a good thing it is getting too cold to ride, because I won't be able to ride in a couple more months anyways. Dave gets a little worried when I ride now.

10. Finally got around to shaving Frodo again, just in time for it to turn cold. He looks so much better now, but I had to put on his jacket because he was always shivering.

Guess What?

Ten on Tuesday

1. Had another training session with Jolene last tuesday. Now that Millie is in our back pasture Jo came over to help me work on getting her trust and respect. It is a little more difficult without a round pen . Also with the dogs started barking every time I asked Millie to trot, which freaked her out. By the end of the lesson she had sweat pouring down her face. I worked with her alone again on thursday and she seemed a little more relaxed.

2. Went out to Stockman's for dinner friday with the usual group and had a great time. Like always the food was great!

3. Saturday We went on a horse ride with Brad, Jolene, Daniel, and Heather.I was my first time riding Millie on a "trail" ride and I was excited to find out how she would do. We went riding at the sand dunes and it was one of the funniest rides I have ever been on. Millie was awesome! She did not spook or scare at any of motorcycles and was very sure footed on the trail. I love that she never hesitated when it came to and unknown obstacle she would just walk on through.

4. Dave and Daniel both had the fun experience of riding horses that attempted to roll while they were still in the saddle. The ground was just to tempting for Miss and Barney and they really just wanted to roll onto their backs and rub a little. The look on their faces were priceless. you could tell they were think how did I just end up on the ground.

5. At the end of the ride Jolene wanted to test her colt that she was riding to see if he would cross water. Water is always one of the biggest tests because to a horses a pond looks like a black hole. We brought all the horses to a shallow pond at the Dunes and Barney like always just walked right in. Millie just followed without even checking it out. The other horses all had to test the water with their feet, but they all made it in even the young colt. It was a pretty exciting moment. I love the feeling of moving through water. Something about the water splashing all around.

6. After the ride we all went over to Brad and Jolene's and had some pizza.

7. Sunday morning I could barely get out of bed. I woke up congested and felt like I was getting the chills so Dave insisted I stay home from church and rest.

8. Had a lot of people over for Sunday dinner. For once every roll was gone by the end of the meal. Brianna had ran into an old friend Mellisa Scherck and invited her to join us for dinner. We also invited Jesse over since Louisa was out of town. With Daniel and heather that made 7. We had a lot of fun.

9.Even on the antibiotics Tevi got worse last week and even started vomiting over the weekend. So I brought her back to work and we took more xrays. This time it looked like there may be stones in her bladder. So Dr. Francis opened her up today to check and there were two pea sized stones. poor kitty! I am so relieved that we have finally found something. This surgery should make her all better! Dr. Francis said this is only the third case he has ever seen where a cat had stones.

10. This is the first tuesday in months where I have pretty much done nothing all day. Once in a while it is nice to not have anything pressing going on.

Tuesday, September 23, 2008

Ten on Tuesday

1. Saturday Dave and I went to Idaho Falls with Daniel just to look around. We stopped at a western/ranch store to check out some saddles. I had fun looking at everything I need to get. Then we went to the boat store to see if they had any anchors, we lost our anchor at bullards bar. They didn't have what we were looking for so I guess we will need to get it online.

2. By the time we were done it was nearly three and we were starving. So we stopped and had lunch at applebees. We enjoyed a lot of appetizers. I ate so much that I didn't need anything else for the rest of the day.

3. For the first time in over a month I made a sunday dinner with rolls. We had Brianna, Daniel and Heather over so I actual felt motivated enough to bake some rolls.

4. Started watching the new season of TV shows. I love having DVR that way I can watch my shows when I have time too. I tried watching the first episode of the new show Fringe, but I must admit that it was just a little to weird for me. Plus it was slow, too bad though because I love Joshua Jackson. I guess I'll just stick to the shows I already love.

5. Last week we got the boat winterized and have moved it into our garage. I sure am going to miss the summer!

6. bought the new book Brisinger, the third in the Eragon series yesterday. Now I just need to see if I can put off starting it until I finish the Ender series I have been reading. then I plan on starting some Shannon Hale since she was highly recommended by several people. I just don't know which of her novels I should start with?

7. Was shocked when I bought dog food yesterday and it cost nearly $40, just a few months ago it was $26. I know they had to raise prices because of gas, but really that much!

8. Dave came home from work last night to discover that the cats had tore into their can of treats and had eaten the whole container. what a surprise that they were not hungry the rest of the night. I wonder why I can't get weight off of Piper?

9. I have been leaving Frodo loose in the backyard for short periods of time and have been happy to find him still in the backyard when I get home. I still don't think I can trust him while I am at work. 10 hrs is just gives him to much time to find a way out.

10. Now that it is cold we have been battling the wasp. after killing several nest around the house, it has gotten better. But I think there is one under our deck because there are always several swarming around the back door.

Ten for the week

1. Dave and I left for our vacation saturday morning. We drove ten hours to Reno and stayed in the circus circus for two nights.

2. Just for some entertainment we took a few dollars and played the slot machines. I of course didn't make much. I did win about 50 off of one dollar, but of course I played all that away. the next time I played a couple quarters and won 45 dollars, I was a little smarter and cashed out. Dave on the other hand won nearly $500, he sure has all the luck!

3.Monday morning we made the 2 hr drive to Bullards Bar. After getting the houseboat all loaded we found a great spot to anchor and spent the week playing in the water. I was glad that my parents and sister and family all made it. maybe next year we can plan for a week when more people will be able to come!

4. I did a lot of surfing and I actually feel really comfortable on the board now. I am much more willing to try doing tricks surfing because sit doesn't hurt when I fall. I did some wakeboarding but like always I had a pretty hard fall, ouch.

5. Got up friday morning and drove the houseboat back to the dock and made our 12 hr trip back to rexburg. We got back at around 11:30 and all the animals we very happy to see us.

6. We very lucky to have Brianna available to stay at our house while we were gone. that way the dogs didn't have to stay at the Kennels all week and the cat got her antibiotics. She did learn how neurotic my dog is and called me tuesday because frodo hadn't been eating. no worries though, he doesn't always eat even when I am around!

7. Slept in Saturday morning, needed to recover from the long drive the day before.

8. Went over to Brad and Jolene's in the afternoon so I could ride Millie. It was my first time on her and I had a lot of fun. For a short time Millie actually did her gait and wow it was smooth. Jolene took some pics , so as soon as she sends them I will post a couple.

9. Spent tuesday cleaning the house and getting caught back up from a week off.

10. Tuesday afternoon Jolene taught me how to hook up her goose neck trailer and then had me drive in a parking lot practicing backing up, turning, etc. After the lesson we loaded Millie and Sunny up in the trailer and I drove them over to our house. I was very pleased to learn that Millie is very easy to load in a trailer. Now we once again have a couple horses in our pasture.

Bullards Bar

I was very excited to take a week of vacation last week. My Parents and sister and family, Joined Dave and me at Bullards bar reservoir for the week. We rented a houseboat and enjoyed spending a relaxing week on the lake. It was a great week to go, since it was the off season. With very few people on the lake and water like glass, we had a great time playing on the water.

Ten on Tuesday

1. Went over on worked with Millie everyday but friday last week. put some hoof moisturizer on every night and now her feet are really starting to look good.

2. Saturday Dave worked on putting a lift kit on his truck. It is his birthday present(a little early), but he wanted to put it in now.

3. Sunday our friends Adele and Jake blessed their baby girl, so we went over to their place after the meeting to have some lunch.

4. Monday we went to the Eastern Idaho State Fair with Jesse and Miles. We had a good time walking through all the animal barns and eating some fair food. I was told I had to try Tiger ears(which are really big flat scones), it was yummy! Dave won a huge stuffed lion, which I ended up caring around for most of our time there.

5.We went and saw the Mummy last night and I think we both felt it wasn't worth the money we paid to see it. So disappointing since I loved the first two.

6.Since I also have tuesdays off I was lucky enough to have a four day weekend. It was nice to get up this morning and read for a little bit instead of feeling like I had somewhere to be.

7. The sears guy came today and finally fixed our lawnmower. The blades had been stuck because the lever to move them was bent.

8. Went over to Jolene's today and she helped me work with Millie again. She is getting better but I still think she needs to learn more before I see have she is to ride. I have been trying to teach her to move her feet when I ask. She improves everyday.

9.only three days of work this week and then I get to have a week vacation! I am so excited and very overdue for some time off. I think I am getting a little burnt out.

10.The weather has turned cold, I can't believe it is already the fall. It rained sunday and monday. I have started wearing long sleeves and jackets. I guess summer is so short so that when it is warm we really enjoy it!

Tuesday, August 26, 2008

Ten on Tuesday

1. Dave spent his evenings last week installing a goose neck hitch in the truck. We wanted to be able to pull Cindy's horse trailer for our ride on saturday. It was harder than he expected, so in order to get it done on time he stayed outside working on his truck until 10:00 friday night.

2.As you already know I purchased my first horse thursday. Millie is now staying at Brad and Jolene's until we get back from our vacation in September. Jolene is helping get everything I need to keep her healthy and will help me train her also!

3.Spent some time Saturday morning brushing Millie. She practically fell asleep while I was brushing her mane. I think it has been a long time since she has had that kind of attention.

4. Went on a great horseback ride all day saturday. I rode Miss and plan to continue working with her. I hope to gain enough trust from her that she allows me near her baby next spring. I also decide that I really need to buy a pair of riding boots. So Saturday morning I was able to find some Ariats that I liked at a local store. They are cute and comfortable to ride with.

5. Stopped at Texas Roadhouse on house on the way home for dinner. our waitress wasn't very good, but I still enjoyed the food. Then we soaked on Brad and Jolene's spa before heading home to bed.

6.Dave woke up in the middle of the night very sick. I don't think he will want Texas Roadhouse for a while. He spent all day sunday recovering. Luckily for me, I didn't get sick so it must have been from the food he ate.

7. Went over to Jesse and Lousia's for dinner Sunday night. It was very nice to have a break from cooking sunday dinner.

8. Decided to test Frodo today , so I left him outside his kennel while I ran a few errands in town. I was very happy to find him still in the backyard when I got home. Maybe I'll start trusting him again.

9.Spent most of the morning doing a quick clean up of the house. It looks a little better. now I just need to finish the filing.

10. Now I am getting ready to head over to Jolene's and work on Millie!

Trail Ride

Saturday we had a lot of fun riding in the back country. Brad and Jolene took us to the area where Brad usually hunts. I also invited Cindy from work and we invited Daniel. I love going on rides with Brad and Jolene because they don't just follow the trails. We made our own paths, crossed creeks, and just enjoyed the beauty of the woods.
Miss and I ready to get started
Dave and Barney

Barney was so good on the ride. If the other horses wold refuse to cross a stream, Dave would just have to come forward with Barney and he would walk right across.

Millie

A Family we know here asked Dave on Wednesday if we wanted to buy one of their horses at a very low price. Dave asked me if I was interested, like I was ever going to say no. So Thursday I went and pulled out a little cash that I had saved up and was the owner of a Beautiful black mare. Her name is Millennium (we just call her Millie). She is a registered Tennessee Walker. Which means she is a gaited horse(just means that she has other gaits besides the trot and lope). Tennesses are suppose to have a really smooth gaited trot. She is around 5 years old. Unfortunately her old family has not been able to afford her care for the past year and is a little neglected. I hope to get her 100% healthy in the next month. She needs her hooves worked on, some meat on her body, and a bath.

For those of you who have known me I have talked about owning horses since high school, so I am pretty excited!!

I also plan on purchasing Miss's baby in the spring. I will get the opportunity to train him from the time he is born. I am very excited to learn.

Ten on Tuesday

1. Last tuesday night I went over to Jolene's to work with Miss. This time Jo gave me a lesson on riding. It was a lot of fun, but I was sure sore afterwards.

2. Had to stay at work until 7:00 Thursday night, yuck! It was awful because one of the doctors was in a bad mood and pretty much took it out on me all afternoon! I had a breakdown that night at home, which Dave didn't appreciate. He said that I don't get paid enough for him to deal with my crying. Since then all of the techs have been giving the doctor a bad time about being so moody. I'm over it now and just hope it was a one time experience!

3. I was originally planning and making dinner for Dennis, Daniel, Heather, and Jeffery thursday but after the realized I wouldn't be home until close to 8 they went and got some pizzas for us. I was very relieved.

4. left work early friday to leave for Bear Lake. Stopped in Afton at Heggs Hills for Dinner. It is one of Dave's favorite places to eat on his route. It was yummy!!

5.Arrived in Montpelier around 10:30 and stayed in a motel for the night so we would just be 20mins away from the lake.

6. Got up early Saturday so we could eat breakfast and get some supplies at the grocery store for our day at the lake. Meet up with Jeremy and Cameo at 9. It was a bit chilly that early so most of us girls wore sweaters all morning, but the water was like glass. perfect for some wakeboarding.

7.After a full day we went into garden city for their famous shakes. yum!!

8. Dave and I were exhausted by the time we got home saturday night. Luckily we had Sunday to sleep and recover.

9. found out that a good friend of mine is moving back to Montana, which means she will only be 3 hrs away! Maybe we will actually get to see each other occasionally.

10. Spent all morning waiting for the sears repairman to come and fix the dryer, only to find out that the only reason my clothes aren't drying is because the vent to the outside is plugged. When they built the house for some reason the directed the vent out to the roof. Its not ideal because it can easily become plugged. So I went down to the store to buy a vent cleaning system, hopefully Dave will have it cleaned out soon.

Bear Lake

We had a great time Saturday at Bear Lake. Jeremy and Cameo came up from Utah with their friends Laura and Dave. Dave and I brought along Daniel and Heather. I really love that lake the water is gorgeous! turquoise and clear. The water was smooth enough for us to spend the morning wake boarding. Then after lunch we got around to surfing!!

Jeremy on the surfboard.

Daniel making it look easy.

Cameo learning to surf.

Ten on Tuesday

1. our cat Tevi has been fighting a very bad bladder infection the past couple months. It has become very frustrating because even after being on antibiotics for the past 6 weeks it comes back every time we stop. Two weeks ago I took her in to take xrays and it showed a very inflamed mottled bladder. Last week I finally got some results back from the lab on her urine that reported what antibiotics could be used to treat the bacteria. So once again I have switched her treatment to a different antibiotic, plus some steroids to help take down the inflammation. I just hope that this makes her better long term.

2. This weekend I left with a couple other techs from work to go to a continuing Ed conference in Sun Valley, Idaho. One of the Doctor's I work for is the President of the Idaho Veterinary Medical Association and was in charge of this years meeting. He was able to set op some classes for techs and paid for us all to go.

3. We left saturday at 3:00pm. I volunteered to drive because I was the only one with a reliable car. following Dave's advice I didn't get directions for the location because we assumed that Lindsay or Cindy knew how to get there. Lindsay programmed the destination imto her phone, but it didn't work well. And some how We missed our turn in Arco, which no one realized until we had reached Challis(about 2 hrs after where we were suppose to turn). I didn't know any better since I was not familiar with where I was suppose to be driving. We all about had heart attacks once we found a sign that said Sun Valley 117 miles and we had already been on the road for 3hrs. the trip was only suppose to take 3 hrs. That is when Lindsay asked if we had ever passed the craters of the moon and I said no I just went straight like I was told. oops! so after 2 hrs and windy mountain roads we finally made it Sun Valley. 5 hrs was much to long when you are expect 2 1/2.

4.So now the running joke is " just keep going straight". It made for a very long drive!!! But I did get to see the Sawtooth mountains. As Lindsay likes to say "....its all about the journey...not the destination!!! "
After Checking into our lodge we found a restaurant that was still open and finally ate at around 10:00pm. we were starving and tired.

5. Woke up early sunday to check in and start classes at 8:00 am. We had a class and wet lab on Dentals and then a few classes on critical care. We got some dinner at around 6:00pm and then started our drive home.

6.Luckily this time we did not get lost, it took just over 2 1/2 hrs to get back to Idaho Falls. We were all exhausted from the weekend. Yesterday I felt like I could have slept all day. I am just glad I had today to sleep in and recover a little!

7. On saturday Dave went on a Horseback ride with Brad and Jolene. Lucky him!

8. Have been enjoying the Olympics the few chances I have had to watched and was very excited the see the Americans with Phelps win the relay Sunday night.

9. Dave finally took his truck in to be looked at. It has been having a hard time starting since that day at the Lake it wouldn't start. Luckily they were able to find the problem and have it fixed today. I was getting worried about our trip to bear lake, but no problems we will have a truck to pull the boat!

10. I have once again run out of books to read. Any suggestions?

Ten on Tuesday

1. Friday Dennis, Jan, and Jeffery arrived to visit Daniel and Heather. They delivered a new van for Daniel to use on his FedEx route. The old van spent most of its time in the shop. We went out to dinner with them Friday night.

2. Saturday all the guys came over to work on the FedEx vans to get them ready for work the next week, so Jan, Heather, and I left to do a little shopping in Idaho Falls. I only had one goal in mind, Barnes and Noble. I was very excited to final get my hands on a copy of Breaking Dawn.

3. We stop at TGIFridays for lunch. It took them over an hour to give us our lunches. The manager came over and apologized about the delay, but they had dropped my meal on the floor and had to remake it. They were nice enough to give us two deserts at no charge, yum!

4. After returning to Rexburg, We all went out to the Sand dunes to check them out. None of us had ever been out to them and since they are so well known we thought we should see what it was all about. Dave is excited to take a dirt bike out there for a ride.

5. We had some BBQ tritip for dinner and enjoyed our visit with the Dickson's.

6. I started Breaking Dawn Late Saturday night, just enough to regret having to go to bed. Dave thought it would be fun on Sunday to keep me too busy to read my book. So after church we watched Ocean's thirteen. I really had to pay attention to keep up with the story but it was very entertaining. After I finished with dinner I got right back to the book, so of course Dave had to complain about being ignored. But don't feel too bad, he normal watches Ice road truckers, which I dislike so I never hangout with him during that show anyways.

7.I had to take my car into the dealership on monday for a couple of safety recalls. It was an all day project to replace some fuel lines and heat shield.

8. Sometimes I wish that my tuesdays off would feel more like a day off. I always have so much to do that I can never just relax. Somehow I managed to read a little between errands/jobs and I final finished the book. I won't say much, because I don't want to ruin it for any who hasn't had the chance to read it yet, but I loved it!!!

9. I did a good washing of the boat this morning, it really needed a good cleaning it was filthy.

10. Spent some time today with Jolene teaching me more about training. I had a good time working with Miss again. She is a sweetie.

Christian the Lion

So I saw this story on the news and was so amazed that I had to go onto youTube and watch it over and over. Just watching the reunion of Christian with his previous owners sent chills down my spine. It just reminds us if animals are treated with love they never forget!!

This story starts when a lion was purchased at a departmant store in London. As he grew his owners decided that the best thing was to release him back into Africa. They were succesful and he became the leader of his own pride. One year later they went back to see him. Just watch the Joy on his face when he recognizes his owners.

Ten on Tuesday

1. Went out to dinner with Brad and Jolene friday night to a restaurant called Stockmans. it was good!

2. All last week it took me over 1 1/2 hrs to drive home from work. they have been working on repaving the freeway between Rexburg and Idaho Falls for the past several months. For some reason last week everyone felt it was necessary to drive 10 mph through the construction zone, ugh!

3. Saturday I used the riding lawn mower for the first time, although I'm not sure I should have learned because now Dave will expect me to do it every week, and I definitely think it should be his job :)

4.Took Brad and Jolene out on the boat in the afternoon, along with Jen and Cindy from my work. Everyone seemed to have a good time even Jen's two kids( Shawnee and Devlin).

5. Dave went on the surf board with Shawnee, because she was to scared to try on her own. It was hard work, but she had a great time.

6. We were able to get everyone else that tried either up on the surfboard or the wakeboard!

7. Every time we go out Frodo becomes more comfortable on the boat, there were a couple times saturday that I thought he would jump in.

8. When we were ready to leave Dave discovered that the Truck would not start. Luckily Jen had brought her truck with her and we were still able to tow the boat out of the water. After arriving home Dave and Brad went back to the reservoir to get the truck and tow it to a friends place. Dave tried the truck one last time and it started, unbelievable :( because of the trouble it took Dave until midnight to get home.

9. We were very tired Sunday and took a long nap after church. I love naps!!!

10. Went with Jolene today to the Vet to see if Miss was pregnant. She was already 60 days along!!! so in about nine more months they will have a baby!

Ten on Tuesday

1. Played in the softball game again this week and I actually hit the ball every time I was up to bat.

2. Dave decided that he was tired of not being able to sleep due to the warmth, so we went to Home depot and purchased a swamp cooler. Dave installed it in the spare bedroom window on Saturday. It works great, our friend Jake down the street recommended getting the largest one available even though our square footage is smaller then it is labeled for. That way it can run on low and cool the whole house down.

3.Saturday afternoon we went to Brad and Jolene's to visit and get some time working with their horses. We always have a good time over there. Jolene taught me some more about training and I worked on Miss. She then worked on her young horse. She likes to have someone in the pin with her since he is just learning about riding. Afterwards I went and caught Apache so I could ride a little. whew! what a workout. I also need to invest in some good riding shoes.

4.We Caught the late showing of The Dark Knight. It was so good, definitely lived up to all the hype. Heath Ledger's performance as the joker was amazing, one of the most disturbing villains I've ever watch. It was very suspenseful and very intense. I recommend to everyone who thinks they can handle it!

5. I final decided it was time to tryout netflix. We never rent movies, mostly because I don't ever feel like going down to blockbuster. But there have been a lot of movies I have wanted to see, so netflix seemed like the perfect solution.

6.It is staying very busy at work. yesterday I felt has if I spent all afternoon doing pr work. Talking to clients and keeping them happy. Why do people have to be so difficult?

7. Frodo keeps digging out of the backyard through the side gate. It makes me sad that I can't let him lose in the yard while we are gone. He has this neurotic need to be near us, so even when we are home he spends all his time outside trying to find a way in the house. Good thing he is really good at getting into his kennel now when I leave for work in the morning.

8. Went over to Jolene's again this afternoon and learned some new techniques on Miss. I work on desensitizing her to the stick(training tool) and then getting her to move they way I ask her to. It is a lot of fun!

9.I am loving my tuesdays off, it is so nice having time to do nothing and still get all my errands run.

10.Only 10 more days until Breaking Dawn is released. I am starting to get very excited!

Ten on Tuesday

1. Work has gotten very busy. Friday we didn't even have time to take lunches because Dr. Rolston needed to do a fracture leg surgery. Luckily the office manager order us some pizza to eat between projects.

2. Dave picked me up from work Friday so that we could head straight to Meridian. It was fun to use our new GPS unit to find Grandma and Grandpa's house. work went a little longer than planned so we didn't reach our destination until 11:30.

3.We got up early the next morning to go to the Lake. Wow, the water was freezing cold. Take your breath away cold. It was refreshing once you got use to it.

4.Dave was impressed that everyone was willing to try something out. It was fun to watch the kids get pulled around in the tube. Although no one successfully got up on the surf board there were some really close tries. Jackson and Kimberly almost had it.

5. I was glad that Terri and Tyler were able to come later. All the Kids sure wore Dave and I out. We got to the Lake just before 10:00am and didn't stop til almost 6:00pm.

6. Afterwards Dave and I went over to the Frazier's for some Pizza and Just to hang out. It was nice to be able to spend some time talking with Terri. I sure do miss living close to the Fraziers.

7. I guess we must have been pretty tired because instead of getting up at 8:00 Sunday morning, We slept until 10:00. After breakfast we were able to visit with Grandma and Grandpa. We had a very good weekend and hope to repeat it some time. We decided to leave early enough so that we got home at a decent hour. So at around 1:00 we headed out and were able to arrive home at 6:00.

8.Unfortunately I have no pictures of the weekend, because like always I forgot my camera. No matter what I always seem to forget that one item when I pack in a hurry.

9.My car windows got tinted on Thursday. They sure do look good. Here in Idaho I was able to get all 4 side windows tinted. It is against the law in California, which is too bad because it looks so good with all 4 windows done. I hope that the tint will help with the heat inside of the car and protect my upholstery better.

10. Jolene gave me my first lesson today on training horses. I learned how to lunge a horse in a round pin. I am excited to learn more.

Ten on Tuesday

1. I got off early thursday at work, so I was able to go to the grocery store I was very low on food in the house. I also washed my car, which hadn't been done since the winter. It looks so much better now.

2. Dave's Mom came to Rexburg for the weekend, so we decided to get up early friday and get on the lake before it got busy. It was very early morning but well worth the conditions on the lake.

3.Brianna invited her Canadian roommate and fiance (Tegan and Jesse) to celebrate the fourth with us. They were surprised by how patriotic our country is. I guess Canadians don't every fly their country's flag. We are lucky to have the scouts place a flag in our front yard for every American holiday. Also introduced the Tegan and Jesse to water sports. They seemed to have a good time. Jesse kept on wanted to go on the tube. My least favorite because it really hurts when you get thrown off, but he really seemed to enjoy it. We were glad that we went early because by 2 it was much too windy to enjoy.

4.Everyone then came over to our place for a BBQ. I of course got eaten alive by the mosquitos. so for the next three days I suffered with the itching and swelling. It was so bad saturday and sunday that I couldn't sleep.

5. Saturday I went with Brianna and Mom to Jackson Hole Wyoming. I had never been so I was excited to check it out. For lunch I tried a Buffalo Burger, It didn't really taste and different then a regular hamburger.

6. Saturday night we went bowling as a family. Even Krista managed to beat me. Afterwards Dave and I went to see Hancock. I thought it was good, with a good surprise half way through.

7. I was very excited to have a new stove installed on Saturday. no more trying to guess what the temperature of the oven is. So far everything is cooking the way it should. With the old one I always had to turn the temp gage way down and then I still burned everything unless I took at least 10 min off the cooking time. We also finally got a microwave. It has been over a year since I have had one to use.

8. Dave and I realized last weekend that we didn't actually have enough life vest on our boat for a full load. Since our boat can hold ten we decided to purchase a couple more for this weekend in Meridian. Today I stopped at a boat store to check out their vest and was horrified to learn that vest prices have doubled in the last year. We like the neoprene vest and I was expecting to pay 50-60 per vest, now a good vest starts at $100. I couldn't justify that price, but I remember someone telling me that they sell good vest at Sam's club. So I decided it was time to become a member. I was very happy to get two vest for $40 each. That deal made membership well worth it!

9. I am finally back to a four day work week. yeah! I now have tuesdays off. Since I had the whole day off I was excited to actually have time to go out and brush the horses. I don't think they will be around much longer, since they have already cleared our whole pasture.

10. We were very disapointed to learn this week that our July camping trip to Lake Trinity had been cancelled. One of the California fires is only ten mile away from the camp site. So We decided to spend the money we had been saving for the trip on our vehicles. Dave put in a new navigation/sirius radio deck in the truck. My favorite feature is the ability to make a call from the screen. We are aslo planing on getting the windows tinted on both vehicles, which I am very excited for.

Ten on Tuesday

1. The softball game was thursday night, I was glad I was needed for only part of the game. In the last inning I was up to bat with two outs already, and of course I became the last out. I was just glad that I actually hit the ball.

2. It took me 2 hours to drive home from work friday night. There was a really bad accident involving a train.

3. I loved sleeping in Saturday. It doesn't seem like I get to do that very often.

4. Went to the Lake after lunch Sauturday. It was a great day for boating. The weather was warm and the water refreshing. I was surprised that the lake wasn't very busy. other people must have been saving all their boating for the 4th.

5. Had some fun surfing, one of my coworkers tried wakeboarding for the first time. She said that her arms were very sore the next morning. We dropped anchor for about an hour and just swam in the lake for a while.

6. Went to texas roadhouse after the lake. it was yummy!

7. One of our friends discovered that our pasture was filled with alfalfa and wanted to bring a few of their horses over. With hay so expensive right now it will save them some money and I get to enjoy having some horses in my backyard.

8.They brought three over, Sunny( the old girl), Miss, and Barney.

9. The dogs did not know what to think of the new additions. At first the barked like crazy every time we sent them outside. The horses would just walk over to the fence check out the dogs and then move away. they don't seem very concerned with frodo or barney.

10. Got up early this morning to make some pizza dough. It always takes a couple hrs so my mornings off seem to be the best time to attempt it.

Have a great week!

New Additions

We have three new residents at our home.

What a Beautiful view!

Ten on Tuesday

1. I agreed to play for one of my coworkers in thursdays softball game. She normally plays catcher so I tried out that position. I really am a terrible player, and I think Dave spent the whole time worrying that I was going to get hit by a bat. But not to worry I was so afraid of the ball I didn't even catch it most of the time. I discovered one other draw back with playing catcher, the getting up and down really worked out some muscles I haven't used in a very long time. So by friday morning I was so sore it hurt to walk.

2. Randalynn arrived in Idaho Thursday for a weeked visit. Friday night Randalynn, Jesse and Louisa, Brianna, and Dave and I got together for dinner at Applebees. We then all went to the Riot Zone for some go carts. It was a lot of fun driving around the track. Ony got into one wreck on the track when a car in font of me spun out and came to a stop. This caused me to slam into the car and stop which caused Louisa to rear end me. I was already so sore from softball, I didn't even notice any new pain.

3. Saturday we all went to the Lake along with Brianna's good friend Jen. It was nice to be able to take the dogs along, although I think the heat may have tired them out. Our nephew Miles really is a water baby and tried the whole time to get into the water.

4. The water was still pretty cold, but much better then last week. Brianna had thought ahead and rented a couple of wet suits. One just happened to be my size and it really did make a difference. I think we may have to consider buying some. It was great to get to surf again. It took me several times to refigure out what I was doing. Brianna and Jen were the only ones who also did some wakeboarding.

5. After we got back everyone came over to the house for a BBQ. Jesse took Miles on our riding lawn mower. It was nice to get our lawn mowed.

6. I was so tired by Sunday I just had to take a nap. I am always so worried about getting dinner made I never feel like I can take a nap, but I could barley keep my eyes open. I slept until 5:00, so we had dinner a little later then normal.

7. Still am trying to get our lawn to look nice. There are way to many yellow spots. It is so hard to cover that much area. half the time we only have enough water pressure to run one hose. So whenever we are home we have a sprinkler going. Hopefully the lawn will be nice and green soon.

8. Barney discovered on friday that he could get out of the fence if he went over to our neighbors chainlink. all he had to do was lean into the chainlink and it would bend enough for him to squeeze around our wood post. Dave managed to wired the chainlink to our fence, so he hasn't been able to get out anymore. not that he doesn't keep on trying.

9. I am really enjoying the summer weather, I can't believe that it's already almost July. This summer is going to go by way to fast!

10. I had planted some flowers in the pot that use to have my rose bush( it didn't survive the winter). A few of them got fried by the sun, so I moved them into a spot that is mostly shade. I hope that they recover alright. I am not much of a green thumb. I pretty much kill everything I try to grow. Oh well, at least I try.

Fun in the Sun!!

Dave enjoying the Surfing!

Miles enjoying the water with Uncle Dave.

Look, I can surf!

Barney and Frodo along for the ride.
