Ten for the week

1. Friday after work we went to the local county fair. We got there in time to catch a few kids we knew barrel racing.

2. Nathan had a great time exploring the stands. Now that he walks he just can't stay still.

3. After watching the roping competition we walked around the fair grounds. Nathan loved the animal barn. He seems to really like animals. He spent most of his time looking at two rabbits and trying to shove hay into their enclosure.

4. At the end of the night Dave took Nathan down a giant slide, but by then he was just too tired so I couldn't tell if he really enjoyed it or not.

5. Saturday we made it out on the boat. I am afraid that the season is quickly coming to an end. The weather seems to be cooling down already. This summer has been way too short.

6. Sunday my good friend Kat stopped by for a visit on her drive back to Montana. It so great that she was able to stop by. I really miss hanging out with her.

7. Sunday afternoon Nathan was acting really groggy and whiny. After checking his temp I realized he was running a fever. It was still high so I ended up having to stay home from work. He was very cranky the whole day and not interested in eating. Tuesday his fever had dropped by the time I took him into the doctor and he thought he just had an viral upper respiratory infection.

8. His fever stayed down all after afternoon so I thought he was on the mend so I thought I could go back to work, well when Dave got home that night he noticed that Nathan felt really warm. His temp was higher so I gave him a warm bath and canceled my plans for work. Of course his fever was down Wednesday morning and has stayed down ever since. It is so great to see him his normal happy self again.

9. Since I was home all day yesterday I decided it was a good time to get my house cleaned. I tried to do a deep cleaning of all the rooms which mainly consisted of moving all the furniture so I could vacuum under everything and really get the base boards clean. Now if I could just get the bathroom done the house will be cleaner than it has been in a long time.

10. Well that is all the excitement in our lives this week.

Summer Fun!

It seems like this summer has gone by way to fast. Of course it started very late, so I have been trying to take every opportunity I can to get out with Nathan and enjoy the warm weather. This past week we made it to the Zoo with some friends and had a blast. I put Nathan's squeaky shoes on and he had a blast stomping around the Zoo. Nathan loved feeding the goats. He would only give the goat at the fence one piece at a time, very cute! He did so much walking that he was asleep before I finished getting him in the car seat for the ride home.
We also were able to make it to the splash park again. And this time I remembered the camera. Nathan loves the splash park but still insist that he holds my hand. I think he likes the security of knowing I am close by, the number of kids there can be a bit overwhelming.

Bullard's Bar

Last week we went camping with Dave's whole family, it was great to be able to spend some time all together. We left Friday after work and drove all the way to Wells, Nevada and then continued to Reno Saturday. We stayed at Circus Circus, they even had a Kennel where Chief could stay for the night. Sunday we showed up at the campsite and set up camp. We stayed until thursday night and although camping was stressful at times it was great to spend time so much time playing in the water. Nathan decided that he was going to be shy the whole time and would have a full out screaming fit if I tried to leave him with anyone. I think he was a bit overwhelmed by the unfamiliar setting and so many people. finally by thursday afternoon he decided that he could play with his cousin Carson, to bad we were headed out. Here are a few highlights of our week.

Adorable Carson and Family Dancing at campfire.

Uncle Taylor giving Nathan a ride around camp. Nathan loved riding around on this bike.

Chief is such a loyal dog, he never wanted us out of his sight!

Nathan and Grandma Griffith enjoying some time at the swimming hole.

We had fun floating around in the river.

The lake was lots of fun. The water was warm and Nathan would have been happy to spend all day on the shore swimming and playing in the sand.
Seth spitting water between his teeth.
Happy Carson!

Nathan also loved riding in the boat although he would get very unhappy when it was my turn to surf. I was so excited to finally be able to throw in the rope and just ride the wave.
