Beach Day

On our last day in San Diego we decided to visit the Beach for a few hours before making the long car ride home. The Rowlands recommended we go to Torrey Pines State Beach and it was the perfect place for the kids to enjoy the sand and waves. It was pretty cool that day and only got up around 64, but that didn't deter the kids. They all enjoyed the 68 degree water. The kids had fun boogie boarding, building sand castles, and just loving spending time with cousins.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park

On Saturday we were joined by the Rowlands who had come to San Diego to spend a few days with us. I love going to zoos. The Sand Diego zoo is absolutely amazing. I had never been to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, so we decided that would make a great way to spend one our days. The park is huge and we must have walked for miles, but the kids really loved it. They also loved hanging out with their cousins and being "in charge" of where we went.

Summer Family Vacation

This year I really wanted to take the boys on a summer vacation that didn't revolve around a reunion. I love reunions but sometimes feel like we don't take the kind of trips I would like with the boys because our whole summer is scheduled with reunions. The boys have been asking for a while to go to Legoland so we made plans to head down to San Diego for a few days.

We left Thursday afternoon and made the 7 hour drive down to the hotel. All the boys were great in the car.

Friday morning after eating breakfast we headed to LEGOland. I had kids get in free coupons which meant we only had to pay for Dave and me to get in. Perfect way to keep the cost down. The boys really enjoyed being there and talk about going back. The park is definitely geared towards the young kids not much there to keep us adults entertained. That didn't really matter though because we went for the kids. Early in the morning I took Colin on the Helicopter ride. he wasn't thrilled and cried for the start. But by the time the ride ended he was happy and loved going on the rest of the rides in the park.

 My hair is a little crazy here because we had just gotten off of a water ride that I got soaked on and the humidity made it frizz out.
