California sunshine

This last weekend was unusually hot for this time a year. Friday and Saturday both reached temperatures in the upper 80's. I decided that a great way to take advantage of the weather was to set up Nathan's pool and cool off in the water. It sure was nice to be able to cool off, since I was roasting. I am thinking this is going to be a long summer. Anyways Nathan had a blast playing in the water once I got in with him. At first he didn't want to get in because the water was so cold but I just explained if he stayed in the water long enough he would get use to it. And once he saw me sitting in the water he was more willing to try it out.

Easter 2012

Now that we are living near family again we had a very busy Easter weekend. We started out Friday night by having Nathan dye some eggs. He had a great time dropping the eggs into the cups. Saturday morning we headed up to Grandma Dickson's for the monthly birthday party and Easter celebration. She had arranged for a jump house which all the kids really seemed to enjoy except for Nathan who would even get into it. He is definitely my cautious child. After a delicious lunch and some birthday celebrations there was a egg hunt. Nathan really got into the egg hunt this year, when all the eggs were found he didn't want to give up his basket. Sunday we went to Church with Dave's Family and then headed up to Benicia for my family's Easter gathering. We had a wonderful Easter dinner and then sent the kids out to find more eggs. After we had some pie and cake for dessert, yum! It was so wonderful to be able to spend the weekend with family.

Trip to Utah

My parents were headed to Utah last Thursday for my cousins wedding and since they had room in their car I decided to join them. So early Thursday morning we all got up and started the 12 hr drive to Utah. Nathan did great on the car ride. I on the other hand was sick and tired the entire drive. I think my biggest problem was how early we got up to leave. My parents wanted to leave by 6am so I got up just after 5 so I would be ready in time. For those who know me I am really not a morning person. It doesn't seem to matter how early I go to bed if I get up before 6  I am physically ill. And now it is much worse since I am usually already dealing with pregnancy sickness. I really didn't recover until Saturday.
Playing the Piano with Great Grandma Caldwell.

Friday morning we went to the Jordon River temple for my cousins wedding. Cameo was nice enough to watch Nathan for me so I could go. Congratulations JaNae the wedding was beautiful and despite a little bit of wind I thought the weather was perfect. After the Ceremony Cameo, Logan, my parents, Nathan, and I joined a few of my aunts and uncles for some lunch at Brick Oven, yum! While we were there Nathan once again proved he is not a shy kid. not sure were he gets if from ;) There was a blue balloon on the ceiling that had come loose from the string Logan had and once Logan got his balloon replaced Nathan decided that he really wanted the blue balloon instead of the pink one he had. So I took my eyes off of him for a minute and during that time he managed to wonder off towards the group of servers. Where he found the tallest guy and then proceeded to bring him over to where the balloon was and the asked him to get it for him. Luckily this server was really tall and easily jump up to the ceiling and grabbed the balloon. He definitely made one little boy very happy! Later that evening we headed to Spanish Fork for the reception. It is always fun to hang out with family.  Nathan loved that the were making ice cream by freezing cream with nitrogen and had a blast running around the dance floor.
Saturday We were able to meet up with Jeremy and Cameo at Thanksgiving Point's Farm Country. The kids had a blast looking at all of the animals. Really the place is just the right size for young kids.

After visiting the farm we went over to Jeremy's just to hang out and then went out to dinner at Goodwood BBQ.
Sunday morning we let Nathan sleep until eight and then headed back to Hollister. It was another long day in the car  but at least I was feeling much better.
