4 months

Today Brady is 4 months old. He is such a happy boy and very rarely cries. Last Saturday he finally started sleeping through the night. I had been working with sleep training him for a few weeks. I knew that he could make it 5-6 hrs at night since he would occasionally sleep that long, but it still seemed like we spent more nights up 2 or more times. So after putting him down for the night at 11 I would only feed him again if it was after 4am. Several nights in a row he woke up between 1 and 2 so I would re-swaddle him and rock him back to sleep. Then Sunday morning I woke up to Nathan calling for me at 7 and he has been sleeping from 10-7or8 ever since. Sleep sure does make me happy.
Brady loves to either be sitting with support or on his belly for playtime. Every time I lay him on his back he immediately rolls to his stomach and is starting to use his new found rolling abilities to move around the floor.

At his doctors appointment today Brady weighed 14lbs 1oz and was 25in long. He already weighs as much as Nathan did at 6months.

Firetrucks and Sugar cookies

Last Saturday was Grandma Dickson's grand-kids Christmas party. We really missed these gatherings while we were living in Idaho. We enjoyed spending the day at Grandma's eating pizza and giving toy gifts to the firemen. Nathan was very excited for the firemen to arrive mostly because he wanted to give them his gifts. He is such a sweet boy always worried about making sure everyone is happy. And as cool as the firetruck was Nathan wanted nothing to do with it. I made him go on a ride with me but after he got off he made sure to inform everyone that it wasn't fun.Oh well I had fun! After the party we stopped by the mall to finish up our Christmas shopping.
We were excited when we got home to discover Grandpa Bell had made a batch of sugar cookies. So after dinner Nathan had a blast decorating some cookies.

Christmas Program

Nathan has been part of a Joy school the past several months. He loves going to school. I love the interaction that Nathan gets and it is so good seeing him make new friends. For Christmas this year we took the kids to a local nursing home to put on a Christmas program. We had the kids sing several songs and then had them perform the nativity story. Afterwards the center had some cookies for the kids. Nathan sure had a great time.

O Christmas Tree

Saturday my parents went to Santa Cruz to cut down a tree. Once everyone was home Nathan was excited to get started on decorating it.

I can no longer keep Brady on his back. He almost always immediately rolls to his stomach when he is placed on the floor. He is growing up so fast.

Bourdet's Christmas tree farm

Saturday we joined some friends at a local Christmas tree farm in Hollister. They had several activities  for the kids to enjoy. Nathan was excited to spend time with his friends from Nursery. Triplet girls just his age and he enjoyed every minute. There was a petting zoo, playground, tractor ride, and even Santa. Nathan talked about seeing Santa the whole drive to the farm but of course as soon as we saw him Nathan would have nothing to do with him.

Halloween

Our first Halloween activity was to paint a pumpkin. Nathan had received a small pumpkin during our trip to the pumpkin farm and since it was too small to carve I thought he would enjoy painting it. I let him pick out a couple colors and then let him paint away.

Shortly after painting Nathan just wanted to curl up on the couch with me and soon he had fallen asleep. when he woke up he was still acting lethargic and I discovered that he was running a fever. I gave him some medicine and he spent the rest of the afternoon resting with his blanket.
We decided to call off taking him to any houses for trick or treating and ended up just taking him to the church for trunk or treat. He was feeling better by then but still pretty worn out. He loved collecting candy from each of the cars but after about an hour he asked to go home.

This year the boys dressed up as super heroes. Brady was Batman.
Nathan was Clark Kent. Kerri did this costume a couple years ago with Aidan and I loved it. And since Nathan didn't care about who he dressed as I decided this was perfect.
