Yesterday we enjoyed celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday at Nathan's school. Nathan has really been thriving at school. And I am loving seeing him grow and learn. And I am convinced he has the most amazing kindergarten teacher.Over the past few months I have been really enjoying helping out in the classroom. Once a month I send Brady to hang out with grandma so I can help out. I love seeing the class in action.
For Thanksgiving the school as an annual turkey trot. Each grade level races with a parent and the first team to complete 8 laps wins a turkey. I went to watch yesterday morning and Nathan wanted to participate. So I agreed to run with him. Boy am I out of shape. Luckily one of the adults watched Brady so I could try running. By lap 6 Nathan was ready for it to be over, luckily someone completed all 8 laps so we could stop. later all the kids who participated were put in a raffle for a new backpack and school supplies. guess who won? that's right Nathan. Seriously I never win raffles maybe he has all the luck in our family!
After Lunch my mom came over and we headed to Nathan's Classroom for a play and food. Every year Nathan's teacher plans a Thanksgiving play and refreshments for the parents. It was so cute. At the end each student stood up and said one thing they were thankful for. During the dress rehearsal I helped with on Wednesday Nathan said he was thankful for electricity. I am not sure where he came up with that answer but I loved he came up with an unique answer. Yesterday he said he was thankful for the whole world. Still cute, but I asked him why he changed his answer from the previous day and he said he was afraid all the parents would laugh at him.
After the play was over the kids all served their families some treats, Muffins, apples, soup, juice, etc.
Now we have the next week off from school. It should be interesting to try and keep Nathan entertained the whole time.

Happy Halloween
We spent most of last week celebrating Halloween. We started off the Friday before by visiting the pumpkin patch. Dave really wanted to join us so we waited until he got off work(they are super busy at work and Dave has work every Saturday this past month and has been staying late every weeknight).
The pumpkin patch had a small hay maze for the younger kids and a few games for them to play.
And here is Brady once again trying his hardest not to smile while I was taking the picture.
Monday started red ribbon week and Nathan loved participating in all the themed days. His favorite of course was pajama day on wednesday. Not sure why but he was super excited to get to wear his pajamas all day.
Tuesday was crazy hair day
Tuesday night was also Our ward Trunk or Treat/Halloween party at the church. We enjoyed hot dogs, nacho's and some carnival games.
My handsome Ninja and Cowboy!
Brady digging into his candy.
One family went all out and played music with flashing lights. The Boys loved it. Nathan just wanted to hang out and dance.
Wednesday I carved pumpkins with the boys, which in reality meant I cleaned out and carved two pumpkins. Nathan did decide on the type of face he wanted carved and helped make a few of the cuts.
Thursday was the Halloween costume parade and Carnival at Nathan's school. Friday all the kids had the day off from school because it was a teacher work day.
Nathan really got into the "marching".
Nathan's Kindergarten class
Spent all day Friday waiting to go trick or treating only for it to start pouring at around 4:30 and it never stopped. It's hard to complain about bad weather, when we are so desperate for rain here. So we happily just continued on with our Halloween plans. We were invited to a friends for a Halloween party. And enjoyed dinner and hanging out with friends. Then once the kids were ready we headed out into the rain for trick or treating. the kids had fun but boy were we soaked by the time we got back.
I found these fun glow sticks for them to take trick or treating. Brady got a gun and Nathan a sword.
