California Sunshine

I really had forgotten how nice it gets here in the spring. We moved here about a year ago now and I have been so used to wearing my winter clothes through May in Idaho that I didn't realize I need to update Nathan's wardrobe already. Really by the end of February I needed to go through all his clothes since we have been having shorts weather for a few weeks now. I love spring here. The weather is perfect and I love to be able to spend more time outdoors. For Christmas we had gotten Nathan a bike but for months he has been to scared to even ride it and I never pushed the issue because It was cold and I really didn't want to be outside anyways. Now that it has been in the 70's I have been working on getting him comfortable on it. He is so cautious and almost always insists that he can't do it by himself. Finally a few days ago another little boy was out riding and all of a sudden riding his bike was fun.
He loves putting on all his protective gear, especially the gloves.

6 Months

I am a few weeks late on this post. Brady turned 6 months a couple weeks ago. Wow and it seems like just yesterday that he was a newborn. He is definitely growing up way to fast. About a month ago he started pulling him self around the house with his arms. Every day he gets better and now is army crawling like a pro. This only makes things around here a little more difficult since I can't lay him down with toys and jump into the shower any more. he explores every where and there is no containing him now. I just love how his personality is starting to show. So far he is happy and stubborn just like his older brother. I started offering him fruits and vegetables a couple weeks ago and in just the last couple days he pretty much refuses to eat anything but bananas. And if you offer him bananas he will finish a whole stage 2 container and still look for more. Also he got his bottom two teeth about a month ago and boy does he like to use them.
He stopped sleeping through the night about two weeks ago and I have been one tired mom. last night he slept until almost 7 so I am hoping it was just a growth spurt and we will get back on a  better routine.
At his 6 month doctors about the doctor found that he had an ear infection. I was surprised since he hadn't really been the fussy. I am a little worried though that since he has started getting ear infections already we will be going down the same road as Nathan and in a couple years he will be needing tubes too.

Brady's 6 month stats: Weight 15lbs 8.5 oz and 27in
He grew 2 inches since his last appointment.

Having some fun in the baby ball pit I set up for in the laundry basket.

This the reason I love Hollister. Here we are in February in short sleeves enjoying the beautiful weather outside.

Nathan just loves his baby brother!

Snow Trip

Last weekend we headed to the family cabin to enjoy a small getaway to play in the snow. My parents, Kerri and family, and a family that we use to live near in Idaho joined us for some fun. We left Thursday night with my parents and got to the cabin after nine. It was really cold when we got there so after a couple hours we got both boys in bed. Unfortunately Brady didn't sleep great all weekend so I was pretty tired  but it was still nice to relax a little. Friday my Dad and Dave worked on some plumbing issues and then we enjoyed some pizza from a local joint near the cabin. Then Dad and Nathan worked on shoveling snow of the drive way while Dave and I took a much needed nap. Kerri and Family arrived Friday evening and Our friends the Sommers arrived Saturday morning. After getting our fill of lunch we got all the kids ready to play in the snow and then headed out. The weather was really nice, but since it had been relatively warm up there most of the snow was gone around the cabin so we had to drive several miles to Dodge Ridge to fine a place to go sledding. It took a while to get Nathan warmed up to the idea of sledding. We did get him to go down with us a few times but we could never convince him to try the big hill. He really always has been my cautious child.
Unfortunately later that evening I started feeling really sick and ended up with some type of stomach bug. My Dad got the same illness. And even though I tried to avoid contact with others I am afraid others ended up sick also. Kind of a bummer way to end the vacation but I think over all everyone had a great time.
