Ten on Tuesday

1. Went to Nathan's six month appointment. He is doing great. He is much more aware of what is going on now and was very upset with the nurses for poking him! He needed a lot of cuddle time afterwards.

2. Thursday we went over to our friends place for Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone brought a little food and it was delicious. I made crescent rolls for the first time and even though they weren't picture perfect they tasted great.

3.I had the day off on friday so I decided it was the perfect time for me to get a Christmas tree. This year I just went to the local grocery store and found a tree I liked for less than $30. I do miss the days of going to a tree farm and cutting down a tree but they just don't have any in this area. Well, not any that grow trees that I would consider christmas trees.

4. I didn't get the tree decorated until sunday night. Nathan has been running a fever on and off and has needed a lot of cuddling. And it is very hard to decorate one handed. Hopefully now that his second tooth has cut through he will feel better for a while.

5.I finally got around to getting a Jumper for Nathan. It took me longer than I planned finding one I liked for a good deal. I got it delivered today and put it together. It is amazing how entertained he is by the whole thing. I was even able to do some cleaning while he played until he was so tired he fell asleep almost as soon has I pulled him out.

6. Saturday I was finally able to go and see New Moon. Dave decided last week he didn't want to go, so while he was working on his Fedex van I found a wonderful friend who was willing to watch Nathan for me. It was the first time I have gone to see a movie by myself but it was well worth it for some down time.

7. After trying several times Dave and I finally decided we would go to the late showing of The Blind side on Saturday. Every time we tried to see the film last week the tickets were sold out. We took Nathan with us, unfortunately it was his bedtime and he wouldn't fall asleep in the theater. I ended up watching most of the film from the walkway. Finally by the end he was too tired to fight it any longer and stayed asleep through the car ride and placing him into the crib.

8. I loved the movie and I really think it is one of the best movies of the year! It was clean and uplifting. If I wasn't so focused on Nathan I am sure I would have been crying. Really makes you want to be a better person.

9. Two sundays ago they formed a new ward from the three salem wards here. I think we lost about 2/3 of the people in our ward into the new ward. So we have a much smaller ward now. It is amazing to see the church grow.

10. This is my favorite time of year! Merry Christmas everyone!

6 Months

Nathan is so curious now, here he is trying to grab the camera.

Today was Nathan's six month appointment. He is still doing great. He now has one tooth, with a second on the way. He is really enjoying the solids and loves, cereal, sweet potatoes and bananas, but doesn't care for squash, peas, or apple sauce. He now is reaching for everything and loves to touch our faces. He is happy almost all of the time, but doesn't like to play by himself. So when he is a awake I don't get much done, which is OK with me I love spending my day with him!

Stats:

weight: 14.1 lbs (still a skinny boy)

height: 26.3 in

Ten

1. It has been a while since I have written a post. Life has been going good and Nathan is growing up much too fast. His first tooth has started coming through which has made him a little more fussy (but not much he is such an easy going kid).

2. I started him on solids a little over a month ago. He had stopped sleeping through the night so after reading a little I decided that he needed more calories then I could give him through my milk. With just a little rice cereal he started sleeping through the night again. Now he eats solids up to three times a day and gets excited when he sees me getting everything ready.

3. I plan to stop pumping at work in a couple weeks. Mostly because I hate pumping and now that he will be 6 months old I don't feel so guilty giving up on the nursing. I think I have a love hate relationship with nursing. I love the time I have with Nathan but have never really enjoyed the whole experience, probably because it was painful and still can be painful for me. It also is much easier to leave him with a babysitter if he takes a bottle.

4.Work has been rough the past month and sometimes I wonder why I am still working. But then there are good days and I remember why I love my job. Maybe when we are ready for the next kid we won't need my income anymore.

5.We had friends over on Sunday to play some guitar hero. unfortunately my camera has died so I wasn't able to get any pics.

6. On that note I have started to research new cameras. Any ideas for a nice camera?

7. Nathan still takes several cat naps a day, but has finally starting taking two longer ones a day. I was starting to worry that he was never going to be a nap taker. He still doesn't always sleep for long during the day, but I will take my eight hr at nights instead.

8.So far the weather has stayed nice, no major snowstorms yet. We did get our usual snow the week of Halloween but not much since.

9. I did manage to make it to the county's health department clinic and get my H1N1 vaccine. I thought it was important since so many were getting sick and the only way to protect Nathan was to get the vaccine. I still haven't decided if I will go back when Nathan is old enough to receive the vaccine too.

10. The moons pull is so strong right now I just got my broom to stand on its end... Cool!
