Easter egg hunt

We decided to take Nathan to his first Easter Egg Hunt this year. There is a great one put on here in the Salem area and Nathan had a great time !

 He got way more candy then we ever need but I loved that he was able to pick eggs up at his pace and didn't have to worry about getting trampled.

Tired of waiting for summer!

We are so ready to be done with the cold windy wet spring and are ready for hot summer weather! Poor Nathan desperately wants to spend all of his time outside. I last about 30min in the wind and then I end up giving up and make Nathan come back in. Last night he really wanted to go back outside but it was windy and raining. So I opened the front door and showed him how bad the weather was and although he was upset he seemed to go back to playing. A few minutes later Nathan brought me his hat and gloves and asked me to help put them on and then went to the front door and asked to go out. He was so upset when I said we still couldn't go outside. Poor little boy he tries so hard to be good.

I love daddy!

 Nathan pretty much loves everything dad these days. First word when he wakes up daddy, also first person he ask for when I pick in up for day care. Monday Nathan was "helping" me put the groceries away when he decided that daddy needed a soda. So he picked up a can from the fridge and then proceeded to find daddy and give it to him. Last night Nathan was having some fun with Daddy's hat and cheesing it up for the camera.

 
Nathan's other new found word is movie. He is always asking to watch "movie", which usually means he wants to watch A bug's life or Mickey mouse club house. I have been trying really hard to only let him watch one a day, but it has been really hard, since we haven't been able to play outside. Which is all he really wants to do. Hopefully today we will get a little time outdoors, at least it is looking sunny and nice right now.

The other day I finally bought a bed for Chief's kennel. I have been feeling bad that all he has been sleeping on is a thin blanket. He has destroyed all the other beds we got him as a puppy. I think he has out grown his chewing stage, and he really seems to love his bed. Every night around bedtime you can find him on his bed.

Recently

Not that much has been happening the past month. I have been working full time hrs the past two weeks and am very excited for the week to end so I can go back to normal work hours. My house is a mess but I have just been too exhausted to care. I really don't know how anyone can work full-time, take care of a toddler, cook dinner every night, and keep their house clean.

The weather has been teasing us with some nice weather and then returning to the gloomy overcast/raining/snowing days. Nathan really wants to go outside any time he can. Which has been very limited. Last week we spent  some time outside while Dave was working on the brakes for his Fedex van. Nathan would not stay inside knowing that dad was outside. It was a little cold, but Nathan didn't care he had a great time stomping through the mud puddles in his boots.

My primary class has actually been going pretty good the past few weeks. It really helps to have Dave sitting in my class. I spent about ten minutes at the beginning of class a few weeks ago and had the kids create their own rules for earning and losing the puff balls that fill their reward jar. Sometimes they are even better at pointing out someone breaking the rules then I am. It has been such a relief to figure out that they are highly motivated by the idea of earning something special.
