Wedding

This past weekend Dave's baby sister Krista got married. We had a great time celebrating with her and Mason. The wedding took place in a beautiful backyard and the weather was perfect with a nice cool breeze to keep us from getting hot.

The night before the wedding we had a dinner with both families and I was asked to bring some cookies and homemade ice cream. I tried out a new recipe for the chocolate chip cookies and they turned out so amazing. Soft and chewy, perfect in every way. The ice cream recipe I tried on the other hand didn't quite work like I expected. I was given a Carmel pecan recipe to make and for some reason I couldn't get it to freeze in the Ice Cream maker so I resorted to just throwing it in the freezer and pulling it out every couple hours and hand churning it. And even after 6+ hours in the freezer set to the coldest setting possible it was still only soft serve consistency. I was told it still tasted great but I don't really know why it never froze.

Nathan was asked to help take the presents and to make sure the guest all took a pair of sunglasses when the arrived.
Little boys and bow ties are the best.
The happy couple, Krista and Mason.
And for your viewing pleasure a little clip of Brady dancing, I love that he was so into the music he could have cared less about anything else that was going on...

11 Months

So I attempted to take a few pictures to document Colin at 11 months, but he is so busy that most of them turned out fuzzy. This little boy just can not sit still and races as fast as he can crawling around the house always getting into things he probably shouldn't. He loves opening drawers and emptying them of all their contents. He also is currently determined to not take a morning nap any more so I am hoping to maybe transition him into one long late morning/early afternoon nap. He is completely a momma's boy and does not want to be with anyone else if he can see me. He even has this one smile he only give so me that sure makes me feel special. We love all the energy Colin brings to our home and can't believe we will soon be celebrating his first Birthday.

Birthday Boy!

Brady turned 4 on Sunday and was pretty excited about it. For his Birthday this year we decided to spend Sauturday at a Water park. Brady was excited for the Lazy River and Wave pool. We invited my parents, my Aunt & Uncle and family, and some friends from church. We all had a great time cooling off in the water, even Colin enjoyed the lazy river. Earlier this month I had asked Brady what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday and he told me he wanted doughnuts, so we stopped at a local donut shop on the way out of town. It was the perfect treat.

Opening presents at home after a fun day in the sun.
So excited to get a Pirate toy. He spends hours playing with it, who knew ;)

He also got this great micromachine star wars set that he has been loving.

First day of School

Yesterday was Nathan's first day of 2nd Grade. He was super excited for school to start. He was happy that he got the teacher he wanted and his friends were in the same classroom as him. I was pretty surprised with how excited he was. I never hated school but I don't ever remember wanting summer to be over so I could go back. I hope he keeps up his love for school.

My handsome 2nd grader all ready for school.

This picture better shows the excitement he had yesterday morning on the way to school.
