The Hogle Zoo

Monday we headed to the Hogle Zoo in Salt lake City. The boys always seem to enjoy the animals, but really we go to the zoos because I love them. It was very hot but surprisingly the animals were all pretty active. I especially liked watching the Polar bears swim. We spent a few hours exploring the exhibits, then we were able to watch the bird show. Afterwards we let the kids cool off in the small splash pad and enjoyed some dipping dots and a train ride. After that we were wiped out from the heat and headed home to my parents in Heber City.

I can't remember what this cat was called but her baby was adorable curled up with her.

Utah

Saturday morning we loaded back up into the car to continue of road trip to Utah. It was about a 6 hr drive with an hour stop for lunch. With the time change that put us at my parents home around 5. We then hopped back in the car and headed to my Aunt's house for a family get together. My Uncle Steve was also in town from Texas. The boys had a great time on the trampoline and the slip in side my cousin brought.

Sunday we headed to West Jordon to visit my SIL Krista. The boys enjoyed playing on the Wii, Colin loved her dog Baxter, and I loved getting a chance to just talk and visit.
It was nice to have a relaxing day after all the driving from Saturday.

Road trip

Dave has been super busy at work, so he suggested that I take the boys this summer on a trip to Utah to visit my parents. It was a great way for us to get out of the house for a couple weeks. We Left on July 4th, which was perfect since there was hardly any traffic. We started off our road trip by heading to Vegas to visit my sister and her family. The boys were super excited to get some time with their cousins. We got there in the afternoon enjoyed some food and swam in there pool. Then we went and enjoyed setting off some fireworks and watching all the ones going off around us.

The next day we headed to a local community swimming pool. It was the perfect way to cool off from the heat.

The next day we just stayed indoors at their home and played games. Later after dinner we went to The Frozen Frog for some shaved ice, yum!

We sure had a great time in Vegas with Kerri and family!

Cubscout Day Camp

This year Nathan attended the cub scout day camp put on by the Stake we belong to. This is the first time our ward has participated with the stake. It was nice not having to be in charge of anything, but it also meant that the camp's location was 1hr away. The Camp was for three days and I ended up driving over a car full of boys 2 of the days. One of the other moms drove on the first day. I stayed and helped on day 2 and day 3 a hung around for the family presentation. Nathan had a great time and is excited to attend for his final time next year.

This year's theme was Passport To Adventure and they traveled to different countries(stations) and explored the world.
