Spring Break
For Spring Break my MIL offered to fly me and the boys to Utah to visit my parents who have recently moved away to Utah. We mostly just visited but those 3 days sure went by fast. Next time we visit Utah I am hoping we have more time and I can make plans to see more friends. The boys had a blast checking out Grandma and Grandpa's new home in Heber City. We also loved all the time we got to spend with my brother and his family. My kids sure to wish we could spend more time with their cousins.
Colin loved flying. Traveling with his car seat worked perfectly and made the flight easy and comfortable.
Thursday we went to the Jordon River Open House with the kids. It was beautiful and a great opportunity to teach the kids more about the temple.
While we were there we also got to celebrate McKay's Birthday.
We also had a chance to visit my grandma and enjoyed a lunch out to Chuck o Rama. Which was a new experience for the kids. Nathan decided it was the best and wishes we had something like that near us.
Our flight home was really early Saturday morning. I was hoping it would be quick and easy to get through security but there were sure a lot of people taking advantage of the great price for those early flights and we just made it to the gate in time to load. Unfortunately that meant no breakfast for us which turned my normally well behaved kids hangry. I didn't end up being able to get them anything until nearly 10am but food definitely solved the problem. Lesson learned. Get to the airport 2 hrs early or pack a breakfast.

Easter
This year the Primary was in charge of planning the ward Easter party. We decided to keep it simple and had a simple lunch and then a egg hunt for the kids.
The following weekend we went to the Dickson Family Easter party. The kids had a blast with all their cousins. They enjoyed the bounce house, egg hunt, and riding around in Grandpa Dickson Golf cart.
The kids also enjoyed coloring eggs.

Pinewood Derby
Earlier this month Nathan attended his first Pinewood Derby. He was super excited to create his own car and race this year. I went the easy route this year and instead of buying one of the block kits from the scout store we ended up at Hobby Lobby. Nathan picked out the precut car that he wanted. Everything but the paint came in the kit, which was perfect for us since we don't really have access to all the tools to make the car.
Nathan Chose a metallic teal for the car, sanded all the edges until it was shaped the way he wanted and then had Dave help him add weights. The only problem was because of the style car he chose he was difficult to add enough weight to reach the 5 ounces recommended. it kind op left him with a disadvantage and his car didn't do as well as he hoped.
This year we invited all primary kids age 8+ to join us since we only have 3 cub scouts total and wanted to make it more fun all around. One of the girls won the all around, and Nathan won 2nd among the cub scouts.
Ready to race!
Aunt Margaret put Brady in charge of her car( she is the Cub Committee Chair)
Race Time
After the race everyone got to enjoy some car shaped brownies. How cool are these?
