We started off Saturday morning by taking some family photos in our matching reunion shirts.( sorry I didn't get any shots on my camera) Then Dave's Parents, Jesse, and Dave left for day to spend sometime at his great uncles 90th birthday party. That left the rest of us on our own to find something to do. We started out by ordering some pizza for lunch and then we headed to a nearby river for a little play time. Krista stayed behind to watch Brady and Mason while the rest of the kids enjoyed cooling off at Frasier Flats.

Reunion Day 3
Friday we got up early to head to New Melones for a full day of boating. We had a blast spending our time wake boarding, surfing, tubing with Dave's Parents, Krista, Brianna, Taylor, and Jesse's family. Taylor brought his jet ski and everyone had a great time trying it out, especially Dave's dad!

This year I finally convinced Nathan to get on the tube with me. He had fun until the end when we submarined the front a little.

Tired boy after a long day in the sun.
Taylor told Dave to go all out when he was on the tube.

Griffith Family Reunion 2013- Day 1 and 2
Last week we joined all of Dave's immediate family at the cabin for 5 days of fun. Nathan had a blast hanging out with all of his cousins and we were all worn out and ready to be home by Sunday. The first day mostly consisted of travel. We left right after lunch and drove to Sonora where we stopped for dinner and to grab a few groceries. We arrived at the cabin early Wednesday evening. The drive up was rough this time because Brady cried the whole way. 3+ hours of a fussy baby is enough to wear anyone out. I never really could figure out why he was crying other then he really didn't want to be in the car seat. That night he didn't sleep very well but the next day we were mostly back to normal and he slept great all the other nights.
Thursday we started the morning off with a treasure hunt created by Grandma Griffith and Aunt Brianna. It was Mario brothers themed and the kids had a blast finding the clues and participating in all the activities. Grandma even made all the kids a super hero cape to wear while on the treasure hunt. Nathan loved his cape and even asked to wear it to bed that night.
After lunch we headed over to Pinecrest lake with the boat and enjoyed some time trying out Stand Up Paddle boards. We had lots of fun, well at least until the end when Dave decided that I needed to get in the water because my hair was still dry. I was sitting on paddle board with the oar laying across it when he flipped me off. I didn't realize that I didn't have the oar in my hands until I came up from under the water. They are suppose to "float" but when I looked around for it I saw it sinking below the water. I lunged for it but I think I pushed it down even farther. We searched for a long time but eventually had to give up, it was just too deep. Unfortunately that meant we needed to pay for the missing oar and they charge a exuberant fee, boo! oh well that is just life sometimes, we had fun anyways.

Haircut
In just a few days Brady will be 11 months old, really where has all the time gone! Over the past few months his hair has really started to get long, so since I was getting Nathan's haircut today I decided it was a good time to trim Brady's hair too. I just trimmed it a little myself to get the hair off his ears and to shorten it all around, especially in the back. Really just enough so that I could hold off on getting him a real haircut until after he turns 1. I ended up taking about and 11/2 inches off around his ears and off the back.
Before: It is hard to tell by this picture, but the hair on the sides covered his ears and his bangs were getting in his eyes. And although he was super cute with all his hair it was becoming a messy problem, especially during every meal.
After: Just a little trim and he looks like a little man.
Look at all the that hair and this is after I took almost 2 inches off.
