The Adventures of a growing boy

Nathan and I have been having all kinds of fun since he has started crawling. He is so curious and once he decides that he wants something it is all he will focus on. He even seems to know when I am trying to hide something from him.

Bath time fun!
For the first time this Saturday Nathan discovered that he can have even more fun if he splashes the water. He just loves his baths and gets so excited when he hears the tub filling up.

After discovering how fun it was to splash water I couldn't keep him away from the dog's water dishes. Every time I put him down in the other room he was crawl as fast as possible to the water. As he approached the dishes he would just start laughing and giggling so hard it was just too cute. I think it may be time for a video camera. I must have moved him away from these over a dozen times. He just gets so focused on one thing there is no distracting him.

He has also decided that it is no fun playing with his toys, he would much rather be helping mom out in the kitchen.

He is going through a new stage where he is no longer interested in his own food. Last night after feeding him I let him down to play so Dave and I could eat our dinner and of course even though he had acted full and uninterested in food all he wanted was some of our dinner. He loved the mashed potatoes!

9 Months

Now that Nathan is 9 months I thought I would write a little update. Nathan loves to be on the floor exploring. If I leave him alone he will come searching for me. He also has become very attached to me and even when he is playing he has to be able to see me and crawls over occasionally just to get on my lap. He is no longer as friendly with strangers, although he will still give everyone a huge smile just as long as they don't try to touch him. He tries to stand up all the time now and most mornings when he gets up he calls for me after he has stood up in his crib. This new development has made nap times difficult since he will not lay down when I put him in his crib and will even toss his binky out and just cry until I rescue him. He has 4 teeth now.

9 month stats:
Weight - 17 lbs
Height- 27.5

Ten for the week

1. Left Friday night after work for Utah. We didn't get to Jeremy's until after midnight, although Nathan still woke up at 7:30 Saturday morning.

2. I was very excited to finally hold the newest addition to the family. Its amazing how quickly you forget how small they start out. Logan is adorable!

At first Nathan wasn't that happy about sitting on the couch with dad. He really seems to want me all the time. I love it!

Then he discovered there was a baby next to him.
After that he was all smiles!!

3. After visiting a little in the morning We left for the Utah boat show. Dave loves going every year. This year I decided to go with and Nathan seemed to enjoy getting pushed around in the stroller.

4.We then decided to check out Cabela's but only stayed for a short time because Nathan was hungry and tired.

5. We then Joined up with Cameo and Jeremy and Brianna for some dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Jeremy had called ahead and put us on the list since there was 1 1/2 hr wait. By the time we got there we had just over 1/2 to wait. It is always kind of crazy to try and eat out Valentines weekend. The crowd there was huge and we had to push our way through just to get to our table. Still loved the food!

6. After dinner Dave and I headed over to Grandma and Grandma Caldwell's for a visit. At first Nathan was a little shy but once he discovered the toys he was moving all over the place!

7. We headed back home Sunday morning and spent the afternoon resting from the trip.

8. Nathan has started getting very good about crawling and will try to look for me if I leave the room. He also loves to stand and tries to pull up on everything. Most of the time when he wakes up we find him standing up in his crib. good thing we lowered it last week.

9. The other day Nathan discovered Chief in his Kennel and crawled over to him and started giggling and talking to him.

He bites his lower lip now when he is concentrating and doing something. Very cute!

Come on Chief time to come out and play!

10. I don't think that animals are as thrilled that he is so mobile now. Especially since he is so interested in them while they are eating.
Nathan enjoys stealing their food

Book Review

If you have not read these books you must! My original plan was to read these a couple days a week on my lunch break. So that way I would have something to read for a few weeks. The only problem was I couldn't put them down I had to find out what was going to happen next. I think I finished Catching fire in two days and that was with forced breaks while Nathan was awake. And the ending left me anxiously waiting for book 3. I don't think I slept well at all that night because I kept replaying all the scenes in my head. I love it when book draws me in that way. The only problem the next book doesn't come out until august :(
