Fall Soccer

For some reason this year I agreed to coach Brady's soccer team. The rec department was having a hard time finding coaches and I have a really hard time saying no. I actually enjoyed running practice and the kids all seemd to have a good time. It took some trial and error but I quickly learned that I needed to keep the drills super simple. Anything that required more then one step was just too much for the 5 and 6 year olds to understand. Games were a whole other story. My kids had zero experience while many of the other teams had played together for a couple years. We got scored on a lot but each week the kids improved and seemed to understand more. For our final game the kids finally scored their first goal and ended winning 3-2. It was pretty exciting and I was glad that we ended the season with a win after so many rough games earlier in the season. Brady on the other hand didn't really seem that into playing this year and always wanted to be subbed out. I think he will be taking a break from sports for a while.

Nathan had a great time this year and has improved so much over the past couple years. He team really worked on passing and being in the right positions to help each other out. I can tell he really loves to play and gets so excited sometimes he just can't stop bouncing.

Happy Halloween

We started off our Halloween by carving pumpkins Saturday afternoon. The boys were excited to pick out a design and get started. This year was nice because Nathan could do most of the work himself, yay! He only asked for help on carving the mouth.

Halloween day started out at school for a costume parade and Halloween Carnival. Brady came down with the cold that has been moving through the family on Sunday. And even though he woke up feeling a little sick he still wanted to go to school. Poor kid didn't want to miss out on all the fun. Unfortunately he only lasted 30min before he threw up and I walked him home. I ended up going back to help at the Carnival and brought him home some cotton candy so he wouldn't feel too bad about missing everything.

That night we had our ward Halloween party and Trunk or Treat. The kids had a great time and once we were done we stopped in a nearby neighborhood so the boys could go trick or treating at a few houses before calling it a night.

All dressed and ready to go.
