Fresno Chaffee Zoo

Last Saturday we headed with my parents the the Fresno zoo. We had never been there before so we were excited to check it out. We all ended up be impressed with the place and really enjoyed the exhibits.
The boys really thought it was cool to feed the giraffes.

Here the giraffe's long tongue got Brady's arm as he was holding the lettuce out, what an experience.
Brady was just mesmerized by all the animals and would want to stay and stare into each exhibit.
There was a sting ray exhibit that you could try and pet or feed the rays. Nathan was super cautious and didn't want to stick his arm in the water but Brady really wanted to touch them. Unfortunately the pool was too deep for his little arms.
Holding the fish for the stingrays to eat.

                                                             Taking a snack break.

Brady had to touch every single animal in the petting zoo and then once he got a brush he had to go back to each one to make sure they got brushed, silly boy.

                                                     Digging for dinosaur bones.

One of our last activities for the day was watching the bird show. After the show  they brought out a few of the birds for close ups. This owl was amazing.

Also as part of their conservation fundraising  you can hand money to a Raven who collects it and places it in a box.

We had a great day and the boys are excited to go again when the African exhibit is open next fall.

Nathan Turns 6

Last week we celebrated Nathan's Birthday. He was excited to be turning 6. It's hard to believe that not only is he now 6 but will be finished with Kinder next week too. My boys are growing up way too fast. We made it simple this year and just invited family over for cake and ice cream and then let him pick a family outing he wanted to do for his birthday. He picked the zoo, post to follow.

Boys, Boys, Boys

I went in for my ultrasound a few weeks ago. This baby is sitting very low in my pelvis so it was a little difficult for the ultrasound tech to get a great view of everything. Eventually she was able to get him to move enough to see that he was a boy. We are excited to have another boy on the way. I think Dave is relieved(hahaha) that we won't be having any girls. For me it never really mattered to much all I cared was that the baby was healthy. And I kind of have felt since we had Nathan, that I was going to be a mom to only boys so the results did not surprise me at all. Pregnancy has always been rough for me so I am excited to be half way done already and really can't wait to hold this new little boy. Just the hot miserable summer to get through.....

Spring Fair

I joined Nathan and his kindergarten class on a field trip to the Los Banos Spring Fair. I was impressed with everything the small fair had to offer. Plenty of fun for the kids. We started by walking through the animal barns. His teacher new many of the FFA kids so they got to stop and pet several of the different animals. Next we went to the Henry Miller Petting zoo. After the petting zoo we headed over to the helping hand display. In that area the kids got to pretend to be farmers and learned about all the things the different plants and animals provide for us. Finally we went to check out their art work. All the kids in his class painted a fish from watercolors. While waiting for lunch we stop at the fire dept trailer. Nathan loved practicing stop drop and role with the firefighters.
