4th of July

For the 4th we headed to Orem for the Colonial Heritage Festival and the Freedom Vehicles Military Outpost. Such a great way to look back at our past.

We were lucky enough to run into Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson so of course I made the boys get a picture with them.

Afterwards we went over to my Grandma's for a visit. Colin was happy that we finally made it to the brick house he had been asking about for days.

Finally that evenig we shot off a few parachute fireworks. The boys loved catching the parachutes. then we enjoyed the neighbors fireworks which were pretty amazing!

Utah day 1

Wednesday We started our day at the Wasatch Aquatic Center near my parents home in Heber City. The boys had a great time swimming and playing on the Wibits(floating obstacle courses).

After our fun time swimming we meet up with my cousins at my Aunt and Uncles home. The kids loved  trampoline and playing nine square and I loved hanging out with my family.

Road Trip to Utah

On Sunday June 30 I loaded up the boys and we  started our road trip to Utah to visit my Parents. The boys have been looking forward to this trip ever since school was out. Every time we got in the car Colin would ask if we were going to the upstairs downstairs house. Which I quickly figured out was his description for Grandma and Papa's house. This trip is fast becoming part of our summer traditions.
The first stop on our Trip was Vegas. I almost always chose to drive the southern route because it gives me the chance to stop in Vegas and visit my sister. We made to Vegas around dinner time, but the boys were much too excited to be with their cousins to actually eat anything.
We spent Monday in Vegas just playing. It was really great to break up the long drive.

First thing in the morning we headed to one of the local parks. It had a splash pad and playground. We got there a little early and had to wait about 30minutes before the water turned on. Colin didn't care he just loved going up and down the play structure.

Later in the afternoon we stopped at the Frozen Frog for the best shaved ice. This was a request from Nathan and the perfect treat on a  hot day.

That night we went to dinner at SkinnyFats. This is one of my favorite places to eat when in Vegas. The food is so good and even my picky eaters were happy.

After dinner we walked to Shake Shack for some custard.
We had a great day. We were up extra early(well at least for me) and stayed up well past bedtime. But all the kids had a great time. And were ready and excited to continue our drive to Utah. The next morning we loaded up, added Aidan and Liam to our car load, and made the drive to Heber City.
