The end of February meant that the boys had begun practicing with their baseball teams. With both the older boys on teams it has kept us busy almost every night of the week. Practice for each two times a week both on different days, plus they both have two games a week. So if anyone is wondering what I am doing the answer will be Baseball for the next 3 months.
Opening day was March 9 and they started games the following Monday. Of course until a few days ago it has been freezing.(at least much too cold for the area) Which meant bundling up and still being miserable. Thankfully it has warmed up this week.
For opening ceremonies this year the Sheriff department did a flyby at the end of the National Anthem and then landed on one of the baseball fields. Then all the local Police, CHP, Fireman had a safety display for the kids to explore.
After they had a team competition that Brady joined in with his team. Four members of each team ran the bases in a relay race. Brady's team one first place among the Single A teams. It was fun but cold and we were all happy to get home.

Snow Days
The boys had the week of President's Day off so we joined my SILs on a quick getaway to the cabin for some more fun in the snow. They boys had a great time hanging with there cousins and there was still a ton of snow to sled in. Plus they got to try some snowboarding which was a hit with them all.

Snow Trip
A couple weekends ago we invited a few friends to join us at the cabin for some time in the snow. Little did we know how much snow that cabin had gotten this year. I have never seen that much snow there before and it was amazing. There have been times when the cabin often got that much snow but that was 15+ years ago. The driveway up to the cabin made the perfect sledding hill and the boys spent hours outside enjoying the snow. Just taking short breaks for hot chocolate. It snowed the whole time we were there and by the time we were ready to leave Sunday morning there was 3-4 feet of fresh snow. On stop of the 3+feet already there when we arrived. Of course the snow plow didn't come by that morning so it was quite the chore to dig the car out and make it up the hill and back on to the highway.

Gallo Center Field trip
February 5th, I joined Brady's class on a field trip to the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto to watch The Very Hungry Caterpillar show.. This show used puppets to bring to life four of Eric Carle's stories: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, 10 Little Rubber Ducks, The Very Lonely Firefly, and the Very Hungry Caterpillar. They did a really great job and the kids loved it.
