Grandma and Grandpa's visit : Day 1 & 2

My Parents arrived Tuesday afternoon to spend some time with us for Nathan's birthday. We had a great time. Unfortunately Nathan was sick when they arrived. I had noticed Sunday night that Nathan had some goopy discharge from one of his eyes. Monday when I got him up for work both eyes were very goopy, but I didn't think much of it  I thought maybe he had allergies so I just cleaned his eyes out and dropped him off at the sitters. When I went to pick him up both eyes looked red and swollen and the sitter said that both eyes were sealed shut after his nap. So Tuesday morning I took him in to see the doctor and learned that he had ear infections in both ears and conjunctivitis in both eyes. no wonder he was miserable. We started right away on antibiotics and eye drops. Since we were already at the doctors office I decided to just have his 2 year old well visit. And the doctor said he is looking great. Weight was 27 lbs(38%) and height was 34.3in.(48%) He is slow on his speech development, so if he doesn't increases his vocabulary in the next three months we may need to go in for speech/hearing test. But just in the last few days I have started to understand more of the words he has been saying, so maybe he isn't as behind has I think.

Wednesday I had to work so my parents spent the day with Nathan. He loves spending time with them!

So Nathan received a ZHU ZHU pet from Grandma Dickson  for Christmas, but I had keep it in its package since the box was label for kids over the age of 3. Nathan finally noticed the box sitting in his room a few days ago and wanted to check it out so I opened it and he has been playing with his hamster ever since. At first he was afraid to touch it because it moves and makes noises. He has gotten braver by the day and now will set up the car and aim his pet so that he can watch it drive. Today was a beautiful sunny day and even though it was still a little cold we took advantage of the sun by spending sometime at the park with friends. Thanks to my friend for getting some great shots of our day!
