finished project

So I am just not that crafty. But I do enjoy a project now and then. I was disappointed when they stopped doing super Saturdays for Relief Society, because i loved being able to start and complete a project surrounded by friends. So with a little idea help from my SIL I decided to make a name plaque to hang in Nathan's room. After several months I finally almost completed the project. Now all I want to do with it is add a glaze over the top, which I have never done before so I will wait for Brianna to show me how. I thought it turned out pretty cute!

Ten for the week

1. I grabbed my camera the other day to try and catch some shots of Nathan mauling Piper. But once I got the camera out he was much more interested in trying to get to me so I snap a few of just him instead. He is trying so hard to get his hands onto everything he shouldn't be touching.

2. Went in last week to the Dermatologist and had the unwanted spot removed. After numbing the area on my arm the removed the spot plus a little more just to make sure they removed all the bad cells. They then had to make a longer incision so that the skin could be stitched back together without any tension. There is not much extra skin on the shoulder. By the time they were done I had a 4 inch incision for a 3mm spot. The doctor hopes that by the time it is all healed it will not leave much of a scar.

3. Got a call back today and after examining the removed area they are sure they got it all. So now it is just watching to make sure no new spots show up.

4. My sister finally had her baby on Saturday. Liam Edward was born after a very quick labor. I still can't imagine not having any drugs on board.

5. It started snowing pretty bad on April 1st and kept snowing over night for 4 days. Not really the weather I wanted in April. It is supposed to be spring, all the winter snow had melted, and the tulips had finally started to come up. Hopefully it will warm up soon. Nathan had a very cute Easter outfit but it came with shorts so he will just have to wear it later.

6. Spent Spent Easter weekend watching General Conference. Seemed to be a lot of messages about parenting.

7. Sunday we went over to a friends for dinner and then played a game . Nathan had a great time chasing around their dog and hanging out with the older kids. He just loves being around kids.

8. Nathan now eats the best when he gets the same thing we are eating, or at least thinks it is the same thing.

9. Nathan's new favorite game is to slowly move towards an object that he knows I won't let him play with and waits for me to catch him. He thinks it is so funny when I catch him. I am thinking this could be a problem. Every time you try to tell him no he just starts smiling and laughing. No matter how serious I try to sound I don't think he gets it, he just thinks I am being funny.

10. I have been trying to teach Nathan some sign language. The only sign he uses right now is milk. Which has been very useful at times.

First Haircut

After Several hints , I finally decided that it was time to attempt to trim Nathan's hair. As you can see from the previous post his hair had gotten so long that it was covering his eyes. So I trimmed around his ears and the back of his neck and then came the difficult part. I don't really like the way his bangs turned out, but it is very difficult to cut a moving object. Here are some after shots:
